“…just as in prison men held together by common misfortune feel more at ease when they are together, so one does not notice the trap in life when people with a bent for analysis and generalization meet together and pass their time in the interchange of proud and free ideas..” Anton Chekov
Hello! I am an Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Ashoka University. My research interests are political economy, public economics and applied microeconomics. My dissertation project, completed at Yale University, examined the effectiveness of the deliberative institution of “Gram Sabha” in Indian village councils.
I have been co-organizing a webinar series with Aaditya Dar (ISB Hyderabad) called SAMVAAD (Seminar in Applied Microeconomics – Virtual Assembly and Discussion). To know more about other such initiatives that I have been associated with, see my Service page.
